TikTok is leaning into the Halloween spirit this year with the launch of “TikTokTober,” a month-long campaign designed to build momentum for the holiday across all 31 days of October.

According to TikTok:

“Welcome to #TikTokTober, your ultimate destination for all things Halloween. Each day of October, we’re highlighting new ways to celebrate the season, whether that’s exploring haunted towns, baking seasonal treats, DIY-ing costumes and decorations, or discovering small businesses.”

As part of the push, TikTok has put together a day-by-day calendar of themed activities, ranging from “Visit a cemetery” to “Take a ghost tour” and even “Turn Oreos and chocolate into witch hats.”

Instead of limiting the fun to October 31st, the platform is looking to stretch Halloween into a season-long celebration, creating more space for themed content, promotions, and brand engagement.

In addition, TikTok is spotlighting creators who can enhance the experience, whether they’re local guides offering spooky tours or food creators sharing festive recipes.

The campaign will also showcase small businesses tied to the holiday spirit:

“This Halloween, indulge in tricks and treats from local haunts like @wilkesfamilyhalloween, or find comfort in a cozy night in. Small businesses - from candle makers to pumpkin patches - are thriving, #BookTok is alive with horror recs, and TikTok continues to be the place to shop, share, and celebrate the fall season.”

The emphasis isn’t random. TikTok’s data shows its users are nearly 30% more likely to celebrate Halloween than those outside the app, underlining the commercial and cultural opportunities that come with tapping into the moment.

For brands and creators, that makes the platform’s push toward Halloween a timely nudge to experiment with seasonal content, ride the wave of popular hashtags, and align with the trends that are already gaining traction.

It’s clear TikTok wants to make Halloween more than a single-day spectacle, and for businesses and creators, that signal could be well worth noting.
