“TikTok and La Liga today announced the renewal of their strategic partnership agreement, maintaining the platform’s role as a priority partner for innovation in digital content for the competition. Under the renewed deal, La Liga will provide TikTok users with exclusive content ranging from “memorable moments from competition” to behind-the-scenes footage with top players, offering fans a more immersive experience with the league’s stars and storylines.

 

Crucially, the agreement will now extend across more regions.

 

“This means that fans in [28] countries can enjoy unique experiences including in-app hubs and hashtags, allowing users to follow the latest news, while match days will feature real-time content for an even more dynamic and exciting experience.”

 

In practice, this likely means that La Liga supporters who follow the league or its clubs on TikTok will gain direct access to the new features, while TikTok itself will spotlight dedicated hubs in specific markets to maximize visibility.

 

The renewed partnership underscores TikTok’s ongoing push into the sports space, with football (or soccer, depending on where you live) as a central pillar of its strategy.

 

The app already holds partnerships with Italy’s Serie A and Major League Soccer, with the MLS collaboration even extending to live match broadcasts. One such broadcast in 2024 became the most-watched TikTok Live event to date, attracting an astonishing 6.5 million concurrent viewers.
