Meta is rolling out a fresh wave of retail pop-ups ahead of the holiday season, aiming to drive demand for its newest line of AI-powered glasses.

The company, which opened its first “Meta Lab” retail outlet in Los Angeles last year, is now expanding the concept with an additional California location, along with new spaces in New York and Las Vegas.

These Meta Lab stores are designed less as traditional shops and more as immersive showcases of what the company sees as the future of personal technology.

As Meta describes it:

“An experiential retail space that puts people and community first, Meta Lab is a reinvention of the traditional shopping experience. It’s a lab in the truest sense where we re-think the Meta retail experience, test out new approaches, and learn what works best.”

And this year, there will be no shortage of new products to highlight. Meta is leaning heavily on its updated Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses, including the recently unveiled “Display” model, paired with its much-hyped “Neural Band” wrist controller.

According to Meta, interest in live demos of its Display glasses has already surpassed capacity, with bookings in many major cities filled through mid-October.

“Luckily, our Meta Lab locations will soon offer a premium demo experience, so whether you live in the metro areas or need an excuse to book a vacation, you can soon check out the most advanced AI glasses we’ve ever sold. Select Meta Lab locations are now booking demos of Meta Ray-Ban Display, starting in Los Angeles and Burlingame with availability in Las Vegas and NYC to follow.”

In addition to demos, customers will be able to personalize their wearables directly at the Lab locations, and Meta will be offering limited-edition versions of its Ray-Ban models. Visitors will also find hands-on showcases of Meta’s latest VR hardware and metaverse experiences, reinforcing the company’s broader vision for immersive computing.

For shoppers and tech enthusiasts alike, these pop-ups could provide a chance to test-drive Meta’s most ambitious products before committing to a purchase. And with Christmas fast approaching, it’s a safe bet that AI glasses will feature prominently on holiday wish lists.

Meta’s new pop-up schedule is as follows:

- Las Vegas – Inside the Wynn Las Vegas from October 16

  • - Los Angeles – On Melrose Avenue from October 24
  • - New York – On 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan from November 3

The original Burlingame store in California remains open as Meta’s permanent retail hub.

Looking ahead, Meta also says it plans to experiment with a series of smaller “micro-stores” built around the same experiential model, signaling that the company sees retail as an increasingly important channel for its hardware ambitions.
