Google Brings Conversational AI Photo Editing to Pixel Phones

At Google’s 2025 “Made by Google” hardware showcase, the company unveiled a fresh set of AI-powered photo editing tools for Pixel devices—enhancements that could prove particularly useful for digital marketers.
With the help of its newest AI models, Google is introducing conversational editing in the updated Pixel photo editor, designed to simplify the way users customize their images.

As the examples demonstrate, users can now adjust their photos simply by describing the edits they want, opening up more possibilities to tailor and refine visuals directly in the app.
Google explained it this way:
“Thanks to advanced Gemini capabilities, Photos can now help you make custom AI-powered edits that bring your vision to life in just seconds. No need to select tools or adjust sliders. All you have to do is ask Photos for the edits you want to see.”

The new system allows you to smooth out imperfections, restore vintage pictures, or even transform your images with fresh backgrounds and creative additions—such as dropping a party hat or sunglasses onto your subject.
“You can even make multiple requests in a single prompt like ‘remove the reflections and fix the washed out colors.’ And if you truly have no idea where to start, you can just start by typing or saying, ‘make it better’ or using one of the provided suggestions.”
This expansion of editing features adds another versatile layer to the Pixel editor—one that could become a valuable creative tool.
On top of that, Google is also rolling out C2PA Content Credentials within the Pixel camera app, applying them to all photos shot on Pixel devices, regardless of whether they’ve been AI-edited or not.

The inclusion of content credentials aims to boost transparency and help users better understand how an image was created or altered.
In other social media-related updates from the showcase, Google also revealed a new collaboration with Instagram that will enhance the way IG Stories are captured on Pixel devices.
Together, these improvements represent a set of powerful new options for content creators and digital marketers alike.
Google confirmed that the AI-powered editing tools will launch exclusively with the Pixel 10, while C2PA Content Credentials will begin rolling out to both Android and iOS devices “over the coming weeks.”
