TikTok has unveiled a new initiative designed to make in-app promotions more seamless for selected businesses. Operating as a streamlined affiliate program, it allows creators to tag a business in their posts and earn commission from any bookings or purchases generated directly through that content.

The program, branded “TikTok Go”, is initially centered on hotel promotions. It enables creators to tag their current location and apply a relevant label, which then qualifies their content for commission payouts.

As creator @Amaya explained:

“You can literally earn commission by posting content from hotels you stay at. Whether it’s for business travel, a staycation, or simply sharing your location, if you use the right tag, you’ll get paid.”

The feature is currently available in certain regions via the “Monetization” menu within TikTok creator accounts.

Selecting the “TikTok Go” option takes creators to a curated list of hotels, each displaying the potential commission rate for posts that generate bookings.

From there, creators can choose the “Post content” button directly from a hotel’s listing. This automatically embeds the relevant location tags and promotional details to drive bookings straight from the post.

For transparency, TikTok content created through the program will include a disclosure indicating that the creator earns commissions from the post.

This approach offers hotels a cost-effective way to boost visibility and attract bookings—without having to rely on informal influencer negotiations. Instead of navigating awkward requests for free stays, hotel operators can direct creators to TikTok Go as a formalized alternative.

TikTok describes this as its first venture of this kind, with plans to expand into related categories such as food, wellness, education, and broader travel services.

While the system could be an attractive promotional channel for many businesses, the modest revenue share may not entice top-tier influencers, who typically seek larger bespoke deals. However, for smaller creators, the potential to monetize travel-related content with minimal effort could prove appealing.

The TikTok Go hotel program is now live for creators in Indonesia, Japan, and the United States, with further expansion on the horizon.
